"And I call any war glorious that is for the liberation of people who have been struggling for years against the cruelest oppression...That ignoble peace! It was no peace at all, with that crime and shame at our very gates."

ReplyDeleteEditha thougt that her husband should be the one who deserved her love.
ReplyDeleteShe persistently convinced George.
She said "God meant it to be war."
This sentence showed that Editha justified her insistence about the war as God's plan.
Editha also thought her sentences to convince George were worded well.
She kind of reminded every characters in the story that her wish, which was to join her husband in the army, was from patriotism, but the wish was just to satisfy Editha.
